Klassiek houten keuken

Ik geloof niet dat iedereen een luxe houten keuken heeft, met een kookeiland, dubbele koelkast en veel opberg ruimte. Veel oude en nieuwe huizen worden smal gebouwd, meer compact en met beperkte opbergruimtes. Oock maatwerk interieurs deed een interessant project een paar maanden geleden. Dit vond plaats in een oud  huis in het centrum van Utrecht. Het ging om een zeer functionele houten keuken in een kleine ruimte van het huis waar een standaard keuken nooit zou passen. Doordat de ruimte zo klein was hadden deze mensen een goede reden om voor een op maat gemaakte keuken te kiezen. De lades, bovenkasten en keukenkastjes zijn smaller dan in enig andere standaard keuken. Dit hielp erg in extra opberg ruimte te creëeren.

I believe not all of you have big luxurious wooden kitchens, with an island, double fridge and lots of storage. Many old as well as new houses are built smaller, more compact and with a limited storage space. Oock had a very interesting project a couple of months ago, which was carried out in an old house in the very centre of Utrecht. They made a highly functional wooden kitchen in a small area of the house, where a standard kitchen would never fit. The room’s size was the main reason why a custom-made kitchen was ideal for that house. The drawers, cupboards, and cabinets are smaller than any standard kitchen sizes, which helped in storing all kitchen accessories, including all the equipment!

De keuken is gemaakt van hout, en is buiten en binnen geschilderd in dezelfde kleur en bedekt met waterbestendige lak op PU basis die de kleur van de verf jaren lang goed houd. Men zou denken dat het niet nodig is, toch is het een zeer praktische lange termijn luxe waardoor houten keukens van Oock maatwerk interieurs zeer waardevol zijn.

The kitchen is made of wood, painted outside and inside the same colour and covered with polyurethane water resistant varnish which keeps the colour of the paint the same for years. One could think it is not necessary, yet, it is a very practical long-term luxury, which makes Oock’s wooden kitchens highly valuable.   

Oock maatwerk interieurs vindt het erg belangrijk dat de keuken goed past bij het huis en de inrichting die de klant in het huis heeft. Vandaar dat deze klassieke keuken is voorzien van moderne apparatuur die past in deze ruimte dankzij de kleinere op maat gemaakte kasten.

The house is old and it has a classical style; Oock has matched the already existing details with the kitchen details, which create a steady coherence throughout the house. This classical wooden kitchen has modern equipment, which fits into this space, thanks to the smaller custom-made cabinet sizes.

Creatieve opbergruimtes voor de keuken

Iedereen loopt wel eens tegen het probleem aan dat uw keuken  te weinig ruimte heeft.  Niets is zo vervelend als te weinig of niet slim ingedeelde keukens. Hieronder een paar handige tips qua opbergruimtes voor in uw keuken.

In the pictures above you can see a clever solution for pots. You save cabinets space by hanging them on your kitchen wall. The design rack above is flexible, therefore when not in use; you can hide it in a drawer.

Dit concept bespaart voedselafval die uw maakt tijdens uw maaltijdbereiding. De snijplank past eenvoudig aan uw aanrechtblad. Ook is deze snijplank makkelijk weer in te klappen en opbergbaar.

 

This concept saves food waste falling onto the ground whilst preparing a meal. The cutting board is easily adaptable to counter tops. Next to that you can easily fold it and store it in narrow spaces.
 

 

Dit is een leuke oplossing voor uw bestek. Heeft uw bijvoorbeeld geen smalle lades dan is het op deze manier makkelijk op te lossen. Oock maatwerk is gespecialiseerd in het maken van massief houten bestek lades.

 

This is a lovely solution for the cutlery. If you’re not a big fan of your forks and knives lying down, have them standing up! Oock custom-made also specializes in making solid wood cutlery drawers.

Beach kitchens

Ik hoop dat iedereen in de zomerstemming is – wij allen zijn dat zeker, zeker met het extreem hete weer van vorige week! Het enige wat ik mis momenteel is water en strand, waar ik zou kunnen onstpannen of... koken! Het bericht van vandaag gaat over keukens geïnspireed op de zee of het strand. Door middel van google heb ik een aantal mooie keukens gevonden, welke mijn allen op een of andere manier hebben geïnspireerd.

I hope you are all in the summer mood – we all definitely are, especially with this extreme heat of last week outside! All I am missing at this moment is water and beach, where I could relax or… cook! Today’s post is about kitchens inspired by the sea/beach. I have been googling things and I found some beautiful kitchens, which inspired me in one way or another.

Deze keuken nam het woord ‘zee’ wel heel letterlijk. Het helder blauwe thema geeft je het gevoel alsof je aan een bar in het water zit!

This kitchen definitely took the word ’sea’ very literally.
Its bright blue theme makes you feel like you’re at a water bar!

Wat me opviel in deze foto is het mooie hoge plafond met schuine delen met balken, de lange verticale opstelling en het mooie kleine details – het vliegtuig op de bovenste plank J Wit, houtwerk, elegant – iets waar Oock zeker van houd! 

  What struck me in this image is the beautiful high ceiling with slanted beams, the long vertical open shelves and the lovely little feature – the airplane on the top shelf J   White, wooden, elegant – something Oock definitely likes!

Deze keuken is stijlvol, niet te modern en met 3 grote lampen wordt de klassieke outlook doorbroken. De showroom van Oock heeft dergelijke keukens –
vandaar dat deze foto een zeer goede keuze was.

Wat ik leuk vind aan deze keuken is zijn warme gevoel dat hij uitstraalt – de zandkleurige tegels, de warme schaduw van het parket en de roomkleurige fronten maken de keuken een ware weerspiegeling van een strand. De kleine plant kan net zo goed gezien worden als een palmboom ;-)

Creative Kitchen Backsplash Ideas

The purpose of a kitchen backsplash is to protect the walls above your kitchen sink, stove and counter from being damaged by cooking-related activities, as water, grease and food stains can mar the walls. Bamboo Backsplashes

Glass is a great choice because it can be tailor made to suit your own unique tastes and ideas. Painted Backsplashes

The paint industry is progressing fast with the improvements and there are several paints that can be successfully used to create a backsplash. One of the ideas is to use an acrylic paint, stencil patterns and motifs directly onto the wall and then seal it with polyurethane. You can also paint tile patterns or fill this area in with a solid accent color. Frame your faux backsplash with thin strips of molding for a polished effect.
